Joined Up Whiting, the acclaimed fish restaurant on Plymouth’s historic Sutton Harbour, has been leased to local restaurateur Edmund Da Vari.

The restaurant, which can seat 60 diners inside and another 40 on the outside terrace, occupies the ground floor of the Pinnacle Quay residential development. It is close to the local fish market and a two-minute walk to the Plymouth Barbican.

It was established in October 2005 by father-and-son team David and Alex Ashen, who plan to concentrate on their nearby Cuisine Spontanée restaurant.

The lease was sold back to the landlord, Sutton Harbour Holdings, which has re-let the unit to Da Vari.

Da Vari already owns five or six units along the sea frontage that serve a variety of cuisines, including Italian, fish and Egyptian.

The Exeter office of Christie + Co sold the leasehold interest, which is held on a 10-year lease from 2005, off a guide price of £95,000 with annual rent of £27,500.
