ABM scoops £6m-worth of contracts

ABM Catering has won more than £6m worth of new business in recent weeks, the company announced today.

The caterer, which has an annual turnover of £16m and more than 85 clients across England, has signed a three-year contract worth £700,000 to manage a restaurant and provide hospitality services at the National Institute for Medical Research in London.

The deal was previously run by Compass Group's Eurest.

ABM, which is headed by managing director Sue Johnson, has also won its first deal in Wales. As part of a three-year £710,000 contract, it will take over from 7 Day Catering running a restaurant and vending services at Control Techniques Drives in Newtown.

In healthcare, a contract worth £500,000 in annual turnover has been won at the Lakes Care Home Village in Walsall.

Earlier this month, the firm began a three-year deal worth £1.2m at Little Haven Residential Care & Nursing Home in Southampton, which was previously catered in-house.

ABM will, from next month, provide restaurant, deli bar and vending services to 3,700 students across three campus locations at Halesowen College in the West Midlands in a deal worth £1.1m. The current caterer is 7 Day Catering.

Next month the caterer will also begin running services at Mill Hill School in Derby, which was run by Compass's Scolarest, and Biggin Hill School in Westerham in Kent, where it takes over from Sodexo. ABM will also provide catering at Valley Primary School in Bromley, Kent.
