Construction on £30m destination hotel in Cornwall begins
Bristol-based developer CMR Leisure has started construction of a £30m destination hotel resort in Cornwall.
The project which is set to open in December 2009 will be managed by the Bespoke Hotel Company.
Bespoke currently runs London's Home House, Stanley House hotel in Lancashire, and The Pinewood in Buckinghamshire.
Designed by architects AWW, the new hotel, spa and luxury holiday home development is being built in Tregorrick near St Austell by construction company Sir Robert McAlpine.
The 65-bedroom hotel will be located in an existing 19th century country house, in parkland near the Eden Project, with a further 56 bedrooms linked to the hotel.
It will feature a fine-dining restaurant and family bistro.
Richard Whitehouse of CMR Leisure said the company was "extremely proud" of the project.
He added: "Conservation is at the heart of our proposals. This sensitive approach will ensure the Cornwall Hotel Spa and Estate will be a modern luxurious 21st century hotel, whilst retaining the beauty, charm and integrity of its historic and unspoilt rural setting."
