Quorn products could provide the solution for school caterers when preparing menus that meet restrictions on certain meat products introduced in September last year.

The standards restrict the serving of burgers, sausages and shaped or coated meat products to just once a fortnight. Quorn products are nutritious vegetarian foods that provide a healthy alternative to meat - and as such Quorn burgers, sausages and dippers may be included regularly as part of a nutritionally balanced dish and menu plan.

Containing less fat than skinless chicken, more fibre than a baked potato, no artificial preservatives, flavourings or colourants, more protein than an egg, as well as Omega 3 and 6, Quorn is available in mince, pieces, balls, dippers and sausages which lend themselves to a variety of dishes.
