St James Club reopened after refurbishment
The five-star St James's Hotel and Club in central London has reopened after an 18-month refurbishment.
The 60-bedroom hotel, located in a cul-de-sac just off St James's street in the centre of Mayfair, is operated by the Germany-based Althoff Hotel Collection, which also operates six luxury hotels in Germany and France.
General manager Tim Pettifer is heading up the hotel's team of 70. He joined the group in February after a five-year stint as general manager for Von Essen's Cliveden property in Berkshire.
Three-Michelin-starred chef Dieter Müller, who previously worked at the collection's property Schlosshotel Lerbach in Cologne Germany, is heading up the kitchen.
Also in the kitchen are Christian Rosse and Philip Vigel, two of Müllers protégés who come to St James's from Schlosshotel Lerbach and Gleneagles respectively.
The 60-seat Müllers restaurant and bar features a chef's table for up to eight where a menu can be created to guest specifications.
Berlin-based Anne Maria Jagdfield was responsible for the interior design of the hotel.
