Searcy looks at Champagne bar rollout as it prepares to launch in Westfield

Upmarket caterer Searcy is planning to roll-out its Champagne bar concept after the successful launch of its first site last November at St Pancras International in London.

The company is to open a second Champagne bar at Westfield London, the £1.6b retail development which opens in White City next month.

The 35-seat bar will be housed within Westfield's West Village and will have a bold look distinct from the existing Searcy site at St Pancras.

Duncan Ackery, chief executive of Searcy, said the new bar would be "like a piece of sculpture" and hopefully the first of many.

"We'd love to do more of these at premises like Westfield, transport hubs and other key locations," he said.

Searcy will this week open a new venture opposite its original Champagne bar called St Pancras Grand. The 200-seat restaurant will open throughout the day and offer a modern British menu.

Next Monday (8 September) the caterer, owned by De Vere, will be revealing its new corporate image at an event at St Mary Axe in the capital as the business continues to evolve.

• Restaurateur Tom Etridge is to launch a new concept this autumn with the opening of a restaurant at Westfield. The new venture, which will be called Ito, will comprise a 60-seat restaurant with an outside area for up to 30 guests.
