Eden Foodservice wins Southampton schools deal

Eden Foodservice has won deal to cater for three Private Finance Initiative (PFI) schools in Southampton in a deal valued at £2m in turnover over the full term.

Eden, part of Initial Facilities Services, has signed a five-year deal to feed pupils at Cantell Maths and Computing College, Redbridge Community School and Woodlands Community School.

The contract was awarded by Interserve Education, the facilities management subcontractor to Pyramid Schools Southampton, the PFI consortium.

Corinne Bonell, commercial manager at Interserve, said: "Eden Foodservice demonstrated their ability to provide high quality catering, which will ultimately enhance the service we offer.

"The company's knowledge and expertise means they were able to develop a solution that will improve every aspect of our catering operation."

In July, Eden became the first private caterer to win a group school meals contract in Wales.
