Crown Group's Kudos wins Honourable Artillery Company deal

Crown Group's Kudos Hospitality has won the deal to run hospitality and banqueting services at the City's Honourable Artillery Company (HAC).

HAC was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1537 by King Henry VIII and regiments of the company have fought in both world wars. Its current regiment forms part of the Territorial Army.

Kudos, previously Crown Venue Catering, takes over from long-term incumbent Chester Boyd from January next year. It will also provide catering at the company's mess.

Jon Pryce, who recently succeeded former Elior sales director John Wright as managing director at Kudos and was previously operations director with the company, told Cateresearch he was "delighted" with the win.

In March Kudos's parent company Crown appointed David Morris, previously managing director of Chester Boyd, as its first commercial director.

In recent months Crown has picked up business worth £20m in turnover with the Barber-Surgeons Hall, the National Army Museum and the Royal Courts of Justice in London now part of its client list.

Kudos itself now provides services at six livery halls in the City.

Chester Boyd was taken over by Charlton House in May last year and earlier this summer won the deal to run a public café at Buckingham Palace.
