Concept Venues to launch venture in Turkey
Mayfair nightclub Embassy is launching a new overseas business with the opening of a venture in Turkey's capital city Istanbul.
Owned by Concept Venues, the 10,000sq ft Embassy Istanbul, which will launch next March, will be located on the banks of the river Bosphorus housing up to 500 guests.
It marks Embassy's fourth overseas outlet after Abu Dhabi, which opened last year, and Dubai and Bahrain, which are set to open in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
Embassy Istanbul will comprise a 100-seat restaurant, overseen by executive chef Garry Hollihead, as well as a bar and a members' club.
There will also be a large outdoor terrace making up half of the club's space, which will overlook the river.
Concept Venues director Mark Fuller said the site in Istanbul "is truly amazing". "The location couldn't be more inspiring," he said. "The terrace for drinks and dining is on the curve of the straits so you have a panoramic view of the Bosphorus."
Concept Venues, which also owns fish restaurant concept Geales, will also launch boutique hotel Sanctum in London's Mayfair next year.
