New Mexican restaurant Chilango to open in London
A new Mexican restaurant will launch in the City of London next month, with the opening of Chilango on Fleet Street.
The restaurant, from owners Eric Partaker and Dan Houghton, will specialise in Mexican fast food including burritos and tacos, which will be freshly prepared on site.
Chilango will feature an open kitchen and all the ingredients will be laid out for customers to choose their own custom-made meal either to eat-in or take-away.
The restaurant's speciality will be burritos, which will include chicken, steak, pork and vegetarian options, while corn-tortilla tacos and fresh salads will also be available.
Partaker said Chilango is a Mexican word meaning someone who has come to Mexico City looking for fun and adventure. "Our name sums us up," he said. "We're here to bring some vibrant Latin spirit to the streets of London."
Former BBC Masterchef winner Thomasina Miers recently announced the launch of a second Wahaca restaurant at Westfield London, the £1.6b retail development, in Shepherd's Bush in November.
