In her review of the restaurant, which sees up-and-coming opera singers performing whilst serving a three-course meal, Moir quoted her dining companion’s horror at the state of the cassolette they were served. “The cassolette is one of the worst things that have ever been served to me in a restaurant.” The Guardian’s Matthew Norman was impressed with the “majestic” food at Angela Hartnett’s Murano, but felt the décor and design of the restaurant “was not her”. He suggested a parting of the ways with Gordon Ramsay Holdings: “Angela, love, it's time to move on. He's holding you back and you're much too good for him.”
