Latest NewsTV chef Robinson teams up with the Ledbury’s Brett Graham for new venture(10 October 2008 12:39)Restaurateur and TV chef Mike Robinson and the Ledbury’s head chef Brett Graham have gone in to business with publican Edwin Vaux. The partners are collaborating at Vaux’s Harwood Arms pub, in Fulham, west London. The pub, which has recently undergone refurbishment, will serve English food and specialise in showcasing locally-sourced produce from Berkshire. Neither Graham nor Robinson will be cooking at the Harwood, although ex-Ledbury chef, Stephen Williams will head the kitchen team. Speaking exclusively to Caterersearch, Graham said: “I’ll be keeping an eye on the menus but they will be Stephen’s call. He’s a talented chef and I wanted to give him an opportunity to spread his wings and make his mark – just as I, myself, was helped by Phil Howard and Nigel Platts-Martin when they bought the Ledbury and gave me my chance here.” Article continues below
Graham added: “The Harwood is a one-off little business venture. I am full-time at the Ledbury and will always be in the kitchen here.” Robinson is a regular presenter on UKTV Food and owns the Pot Kiln at Yattenden in Berkshire. The Ledbury, in Notting Hill, is owned by restaurateur Nigel Platts-Martin and Phil Howard who are also joint-proprietors of London’s two-Michelin-starred the Square. Howard and Platts-Martin have no business interest in the Harwood. Ledbury triumphs in Tatler awards >>
