Roux Scholarship 2009 open for entries
The 2009 Roux Scholarship is now open for entries with a three-month stage at a Michelin starred restaurant and £5,000 on offer to the winner.
Chefs wanting to take part in the competition, now in its 26th year, must submit a lamb recipe for the first stage. Full details are available on the Roux Scholarship website.
Judges this year include Heston Blumenthal; Andrew Fairlie; David Nicholls; Gary Rhodes and Brian Turner. They are joined by the Roux brothers, their sons and Bloomberg food writer Richard Vines.
The five national finalists will also receive £1,000 each in cash thanks to the Savoy Education Trust.
Last year Compass chef Daniel Cox made competition history by becoming the first contract catering chef to be awarded the scholarship.
