Whitbread outsources finance functions to Steria
Whitbread has outsourced its finance and accounting functions to business services firm Steria in a "multimillion-pound" deal.
The five-year contract, due to go live in early 2009, will see French-owned Steria handling the Premier Inn and Costa Coffee owner's F&A functions from offshore locations.
Whitbread, which also owns Beefeater, Table Table, Brewers Fayre and Taybarns, hopes to improve efficiency and cut costs, according to finance director Andy Pellington.
"This signifies an important step in our ongoing organisational review, ensuring we operate in the most efficient and cost effective way," he said.
The deal builds on an existing relationship between the two firms. Whitbread outsourced its IT function to Steria in the 1990s.
