US hotel operator Dolce Hotels to expand into UK
US-based hotel operator Dolce Hotels has unveiled plans to expand within the UK in the next year.
The company, which is owned by private equity company Broadreach Capital, is looking to expand its current portfolio from 26 to 50 in the next five years.
Dolce, which has just bought its sixth European property in Munich, was founded in 1981 by Andy Dolce, who is still a substantial shareholder and chief executive. It currently has 20 properties in North America.
Carl Cohen sales and marketing manager said: "The UK is critical to our market expansion and we're looking at cities like London, Birmingham and Manchester-places that have an international airport."
"Although we want to expand our current portfolio from 25 to 50 in the next five years, the current climate conditions will probably set us back a year."
The group is also looking at further international expansion in the Middle East, Asia and North America.
