Jasper Gerard visits Northcote Manor in Lango, Lancashire but states that he doesn’t believe it’s the best restaurant in Britain (Harden’s). While the food is “fabulous” the décor is described as “the worst I’ve faced” and the ambience similar to that of a Comet sale.

Jan Moir visits Corrigan’s in London. The Are You Ready To Order? critic finds the main courses to be “stupendous” and the restaurant quite simply “fantastic”. Are You Ready To Order? is now published each Wednesday rather than Thursday.

AA Gill at the River Café, London, describes the recently refurbished site as “one of a handful of consistently five-star restaurants in London”.
