People 1st to launch second phase of ‘Great Places 2 Work'
People 1st, the Sector Skills Council for hospitality, is poised to launch the second phase of its "Great Places 2 Work" campaign aimed at attracting young people into the industry.
The campaign launched in the summer and included a TV advert, online advertising and the development of a microsite featuring ‘You Tube' style videos showing real people already working in the sector.
This will also be supported by a PR campaign looking at young people's views of work, what they want from a job and what types of jobs are the most fulfilling.
People 1st also revealed that more than 10,000 people have now registered on the UKSP website, which features information on careers, job opportunities, qualifications, good employers, colleges and funding for the sector.
Nearly half of the registrants are classed as "new talent" -not currently working in the sector or studying for any sector-related qualification.
The remainder breakdown as industry apprentices and students studying hospitality and tourism related qualifications - 45% - and employees already working in the industry - about 7%
