Three hoteliers make the British Asian Rich List
Hoteliers Surinder Arora, Jasminder Singh and Firoz Kassam all feature on the newly-published British Asian Rich List.
The list, released to coincide with the Eastern Eye's 12th Asian Business Awards held last night at Wembley Stadium, put the trio's combined worth at more than £800m.
Singh, the chairman and chief executive of Radisson Edwardian formed the group in 1979 and now has a personal worth of £325m and placed eighth in the list. Kassam, owner of the Firoka Group, which runs several franchised hotels including a Holiday Inn at King's Cross in London as well as a Sheraton hotel in Vancouver, is worth £275m and was tenth on the list.
Surinder Arora, who recently saw the launch of his latest hotel, a Sofitel at Heathrow's Terminal 5, was a place behind Kassam in eleventh with a personal wealth of £220m.
- Geetie Singh, who founded the Duke of Cambridge organic pub in 1998 in Cambridge, was last night named Business Woman of the Year at the 12th annual Eastern Eye Asian Business Awards.
