Gordon Ramsay Holdings-owned Murano fails to excite critic

Angela Hartnett's new restaurant Murano in London's Mayfair has failed to impress the Metro's food critic, who says she "just can't get excited about it".

Marina O'Loughlin laments the interior, service and food at the Gordon Ramsay Holdings-owned restaurant and says that "some of the joy seems to have been processed out of the cooking".

"Perhaps it's] because the chef herself isn't always in the kitchen and, her creations have to be perfected by her myrmidons," she wonders.

Meanwhile, Chris Moss from Time Out is excited about north London Argentinean restaurant Garufa.

Two City restaurants are reviewed by Bloomberg and the Evening Standard, with Richard Vines visiting 1901 at the Andaz hotel and Fay Maschler dining at Cinnamon Kitchen.
