Admiral Taverns puts another 47 pubs on the market

Admiral Taverns has placed another 47 pubs on the market, taking its number of pubs for sale to 245.

The latest announcement follows the pub operator placing 200 of its pubs on the market in November and an additional 22 in December.

Nick Germani, associate at Fleurets, which is handling the sales, said he expected the sites to be sold for alternative use.

He said the property agent currently sells one pub every other working day for alternative use, with buyers ranging from dentists to vets and those seeking residential conversion

"These pubs represent an excellent opportunity for those interested in properties being suitable for a wide range of planning uses," Germani added. "We expect interest to be brisk."

The disposals form part of a strategic review of Admiral's operation. Earlier this month, it appointed industry veteran Peter Brook as managing director of 400 underperforming pubs as part of a move to split its operation into three divisions.
