Ramsay's first French restaurant in line for two Michelin stars

Gordon Ramsay's first restaurant in France is set to debut with two stars in this year's Michelin guide to France, it has been reported.

Ramsay will be among eight chefs to be awarded the two-star rating in this year's 100th edition of the Michelin guide for France, according to the France Soir newspaper.

The extra stars for the chef's eponymous restaurant at the Trianon Palace Versailles hotel, which launched last March, will bring his total of Michelin stars to 12.

The French results, which were scheduled to be released next month, have not been confirmed by Michelin, who will officially announce them in Paris on 2 March.

However, the reported leak could be embarrassing for the French group, particularly after the results for this year's Michelin guide to Great Britain and Ireland were fed onto the internet almost a week ahead of schedule.

Other restaurants slated to receive two Michelin stars include Michel Roth at the Ritz hotel in Paris as well as L'Atelier Jean-Luc Rabanel in Arles, L'Hostellerie Le Castellas in Pont-du-Gard and Le Faventia in Tourettes.

Le Saint-James in Bordeaux, Guy Lassausaie in Chasselay in and Casa del Mar in Porto-Vecchio, Corsica, are also reported to be given two stars, while the list of restaurants set to celebrate their first Michelin star includes Alain Ducasse's Jules Verne restaurant atop the Eiffel Tower.

The top accolade of three Michelin stars will reportedly be given to Eric Frechon's luxury Hotel Bristol in Paris.
