Jason Atherton to host multi-Michelin-starred meal for charity

Jason Atherton, executive chef of Gordon Ramsay's Maze restaurant in London, has drawn together the finalists of last year's Great British Menu programme to host a dinner in aid of the industry charity Hospitality Action.

Atherton has asked the chefs from the BBC2 hit series to create a six-course meal for a dinner at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, where Maze is located, for 300 guests and celebrity VIPs.

The multi-Michelin-starred dinner, to be held on 18 May, will include courses from Atherton, Nigel Haworth of Northcote Manor in Langho, Lancashire, Chris Horridge of Cliveden in Taplow, Berkshire, 2008 Catey Newcomer Tom Kitchin of the Kitchin in Leith, Danny Millar, head chef and director of Balloo House in Killinchy, Northern Ireland, Glynn Purnell of Purnell's, Birmingham, and Stephen Terry of the Hardwick in Abergavenny.

Tickets are £120 and include a Champagne reception, dinner and wine. The chefs will also be offering themselves up for auction as people bid to win one of the seven chefs to cook a meal in their home.

All profits from the event will be donated to Hospitality Action.

To buy a ticket, email fundraising@hospitalityaction.org.uk or call 0870 351 0160.

For more information about the charity or to get involved contact Helen Burgess at hburgess@hospitalityaction.org.uk.

Atherton will also be running the Flora London Marathon in aid of Hospitality Action. To sponsor him, visit www.justgiving.com/jasonatherton.
