Gordon Ramsay sells a third overseas restaurant

Gordon Ramsay Holdings (GRH) has sold its third overseas venture in less than a month, after it stepped back from the day-to-day running of its eponymous restaurant at the Trianon Palace hotel in Versailles.

The move, which was predicted by Caterersearch last month, follows GRH's sale of its Maze restaurant in Prague, as well as its Michelin-starred restaurant at the London West Hollywood hotel in Los Angeles.

Gordon Ramsay au Trianon, which debuted with two Michelin stars in this year's French guide, will now be run by the hotel's management, with GRH involved on a consultancy basis.

A spokeswoman for GRH said: "Gordon Ramsay and his team will concentrate on the restaurants, their menu development and the standards of service while the hotel's day-to-day food and beverage operation will be handled by the hotel's management."

GRH denied that the next foreign restaurants to be sold would be Cielo by Angela Hartnett in Florida.

"Angela Hartnett will continue to control Florida," a spokeswoman for GRH said.

Meanwhile Maze Prague has gained a Michelin star, bringing Ramsay's collection of Michelin stars to 13.

Ramsay remains the world's third most starred chef after French chefs Joël Robuchon (25) and Alain Ducasse (19).
