Peyton and Byrne reveals details of British Library contract

Caterer Peyton and Byrne has revealed further details of its multi-million pound contract to provide services to the British Library estate.

The deal, revealed by Caterersearch last week, sees the group take on public catering including the upper ground floor café, first floor restaurant and terrace, a grab and go outlet on the piazza and a take-out coffee bar, at the library's London St Pancras site.

In addition, Peyton and Byrne will be responsible for all the conference and banqueting at the British Library through their events arm, Peyton Events, as well as the provision for the library's 2,000 employees in London and Boston Spa, North Yorkshire.

As part of the contract, a redesign of the lower ground café will be undertaken by Andrew Martin Associates in the coming months.

David Read, head of customer service at the British Library, said: "Peyton and Byrne's impressive record at some of London's greatest galleries along with their real passion for commitment to providing high standards of food and service made them the obvious choice."

Services at St Pancras were previously run by Compass Group's Leith's, while Elior's Avenance operated services at Boston Spa.
