Macdonald hotel in St Andrews seeks restaurant operator
Macdonald Hotels and Resorts is looking for an external operator to run its bar and restaurant at the Rusacks hotel in St Andrews, Scotland.
The hotel, which overlooks the 18th fairway of the Old Course golf course, requires a third-party with proven success of running high quality food-driven operations in order to take on the lease or licence of the bar and restaurant.
The hotel group has previously agreed deals with the London Fine Dining Group to run its other restaurants, including Aubergine at the Compleat Angler in Marlow, Buckinghamshire; Le Bistrot Pierre at the Swans Nest hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon and Room/Grill restaurants in the New Blossoms hotel in Chester.
The group said it believed the running of its food and beverage division within the hotel could be enhanced with "the expertise of a dedicated and renowned restaurateur".
Julian Troup, corporate director of Colliers Robert Barry, which is handling applications for the role, said it offered an "outstanding trading opportunity".
He added: "The hotel offers an operator a captive audience from hotel generated trade with the added advantage of this being topped up with self generated business. The hotel is world renowned and is located in a prime trading position".
