Gallery Dining Room offers "short, seasonal" menu heavy on vegetables

London Evening Standard critic Fay Maschler visits the Gallery Dining Room at the newly relaunched Whitechapel Gallery in east London to sample head chef Maria Elia's menu.

Maschler says "Her menu is short, seasonal and something of a vegetable patch for those who eschew meat" and describes the restaurant's location, the gallery, as a "visual, visceral joy".

Guy Dimond visits new City steakhouse High Timber. The Time Out restaurant reviewer enjoys his meal but finds the mark-ups on the wine at the Jordan Wine Estate owned venue a little on the high side.
