One Aldwych and Edinburgh's Radisson SAS take top environmental honour
London's One Aldwych and Edinburgh's Radisson SAS hotels have been named joint winners of this year's Considerate Hotel of the Year accolade.
The hotels were named as joint winners of the title for the first time in the awards' 18 year history at a gala lunch held today at the Cavendish hotel, London.
Both One Aldwych and Edinburgh's Radisson SAS were deemed the best all-rounders for a wide range of environmental issues.
These included energy and water conservation, waste reduction, support for sustainable food and corporate social responsibility.
John Firrell, secretary at the Considerate Hoteliers Association, which organises the awards, said: "The fact that we have, for the first time ever, announced two joint winners is testimony to how closely fought the contest was this year.
"The judges ultimately agreed that both hotels would be perfect ambassadors to carry the Considerate message to others."
Independents Bedruthan Steps hotel in Magwan Porth and Budock Vean hotel at Helford Passage, both in Cornwall, were highly recommended in the category.
