Gordon Ramsay to relaunch Pétrus in September

Gordon Ramsay Holdings is to relaunch its former Michelin-starred Pétrus restaurant in London this September.

GRH company lost the previous Pétrus site at the Berkeley hotel after chef patron Marcus Wareing left the company to work directly with the Maybourne Hotel Group-owned property in Knightsbridge.

The new restaurant, which will see Mark Askew as chef patron, will be located at 1 Kinnerton Street in Belgravia. It will include a main dining room as well as two semi-screened private dining tables.

Interiors will be created by the Russell Sage Studio and will features an open wine cellar in the centre of the room 2,000 bottles.

Front of house will be overseen by restaurant director Jean-Philippe Susilovic, who previously worked at Pétrus for five years.

Gordon Ramsay said: "Pétrus is a cornerstone of the group and this stunning new site is the beginning of the next chapter in the life of this restaurant. We will take the best of the old Pétrus and create a very exciting new destination."

Gordon Ramsay this week publicly admitted for the first time that his restaurant business came close to collapse earlier this year.

The chef revealed that auditors at KPMG, who were called in by the Royal Bank of Scotland, had recommended putting GRH into administration.
