Compass Group's ESS extends defence contracts
ESS Support Services Worldwide, part of Compass Group, has picked up several new defence contracts and extensions worth more than £3.7m a year in total turnover.
These include a four-year extension from support services company Carillon of the ESS contract at RAF Spadeadam in Cumbria.
The deal, worth £1.4m in total turnover, includes catering and cleaning for around 250 personnel at the base, where Compass has provided services already for more than five years.
Arborfield, home to the Army's School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, has also extended the contract held by ESS there by two years.
Having been on site for the past decade, ESS will continue to provide catering, cleaning, general refuse, hazardous waste disposal, road sweeping, tailoring, shoe repair, laundry, domestic assistance and window cleaning at the site.
Ian Sarson, managing director of specialist markets at Compass Group, said: "ESS's recent success with retaining and winning contracts demonstrates our dedication to the defence sector and our ability to understand its needs."
At the Third European FM Awards held in Amsterdam last week Eurest Services won the Partners Across Borders category with Shell International. The compass owned company started working with Shell in 2007 and now provides a range of catering and non-catering services at 49 sites across the continent.
