The leasehold on the Ebrington Arms in North Devon has been sold to Lee Slade, a bar manager from Barnstaple.

He will run the food-led pub in Knowle with the help of his mother Denise and chef Shaun Tucker.

The 18th-century village pub – named after the Earl of Ebrington, a former MP for Barnstaple - is a mile from the beaches at Braunton.

It provides a 20-seat snug bar, a 40-seat lounge bar, a 30-seat restaurant and a family/games room for a further 30 customers. The decked trade area to the front can seat another 52 people while the car park has space for 30 vehicles.

The first floor comprises private accommodation with three double bedrooms as well as a self-contained one-bedroom flat.

Stonesmith of Exeter sold the leasehold off a guide price of £50,000 on behalf of Mike and Jacqui Peacock
