Compass Group secures £5m Bryanston School extension

Compass Group's Chartwells division has won a £5m total turnover contract extension at Bryanston School in Blandford, Dorset.

The five-year extension starts in September will see Chartwells continuing to provide student catering and managing the on-site bar, café and the conference and banqueting business at the independent school.

Chartwells will also convert the school's existing café into a Costa outlet during the summer break, and introduce a composter to recycle school meal waste within the school's 450-acre grounds.

Paul Speakman, bursar of Bryanston School said: "Ever since I started working with Chartwells I have been impressed; the team has always made it clear that they want to work with us rather than imposing a set formula and it has always been a partnership of collaboration and co-operation.

"Chartwells has helped us to move forward on our healthy food initiative and we believe that as a result of our relationship, Bryanston is at the cutting edge of catering."
