St Austell Brewery has agreed a deal to buy the freeholds of four South West pubs from Punch Taverns.

The purchase of the four pubs, three in Cornwall and one in Devon, will increase St Austell Brewery's pub estate to 173. The deal, which was for an undisclosed sum, is due to complete “in early July”.

Adam Luck, St Austell Brewery estate director said: “We are delighted to have purchased these sites. All are high quality businesses and their locations fit extremely well with our current portfolio of pubs and hotels.”

The pubs covered by the deal are: Borough Arms in Dunmere, Bodmin; the Holly Tree Inn in Withycombe Village Road, Exmouth; the Paris Hotel -The Cove, Coverack, Helston; and Top House - Landewednack, The Lizard, Helston.

In May, Cornwall based St Austell revealed it was on the hunt for its first London site.
