Premier Inn to open 12 new hotels by 2013
Whitbread-owned budget hotel chain Premier Inn has revealed plans to open 12 new hotels between 2010 and 2013, adding 1,562 rooms to its portfolio.
Three of the hotels to receive planning permission are in London's Old Street, Greenwich and Waterloo, with a further three in Scotland's Dalkeith, Edinburgh and Inverness.
A further four are in Preston, Stratford-upon-Avon, Sunbury-on-Thames, and Rochester.
Premier Inn has also completed on deals to bring a 120-bedroom hotel to the Titanic Quarter, Belfast's new waterfront development and a 95-bedroom hotel in London Islington.
Mark Anderson, commercial & property director at Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, said: "Securing high-value sites in prime locations in London and in key target towns and cities across the UK is the core of our expansion strategy over the next two years. These sites demonstrate the strength of our investment programme."
