Cocktail world cup competition opens to bartenders

UK bartenders have the chance to take part in an international cocktail competition culminating in a grand final in New Zealand early next year.

The 42Below Cocktail World Cup 2010 competition is open to all UK bartenders, who can enter by registering their details by 2 August.

The UK rehearsal tour takes place from 17 August to 4 September, where select judges will visit 12 UK cities to find the top three bartenders for each city.

Contestants will be judged on their performance, execution as well as the flavour, complexity and presentation of two cocktails, which must contain 42Below vodka and a maximum of four other ingredients.

The regional teams of three will battle it out in the UK National Final in London in February next year and the winners will compete against teams from other countries at the World Cup competition in New Zealand next March.
