Gordon Ramsay pub evacuated during fire

One of Gordon Ramsay's London's pubs was forced to be evacuated last weekend after a fire broke out in the kitchen, Caterersearch has learnt.

Customers dining at the Narrow in Lime House, east London, were asked to abandon their meals on Sunday night as smoke filled the Grade II-listed property on the banks of the River Thames.

However, local fire fighters were called to the Narrow and quickly managed to control the flames.

The fire was believed to have been caused by an electrical fault behind the fridge in the restaurant's kitchen.

A spokeswoman for Gordon Ramsay Holdings said while damage caused had been minimal the pub remained closed on Monday.

"There was a very small fire on Sunday. The damage was minimal and the pub will re-open as normal on Tuesday," she told Caterersearch.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Gordon Ramsay sells pre-prepared meals at his three London pubs and his Chelsea bistro.

A number of dishes served at the Narrow, the Warrington and the Devonshire pubs, as well as the Foxtrot Oscar bistro are pre-prepared at a central production site in Clapham.
