ESS retains £40m contract with the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst
Contract caterer ESS has retained its contract with the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst worth more than £40m in revenue over five years.
ESS Support Services Worldwide, part of Compass Group, was selected by the officer training centre on the Surrey/Berkshire border to provide catering and facilities management services.
The new contract, which officially starts in October, will mark the introduction of the Ministry of Defence's ‘Pay As You Dine' scheme which is being supported by ESS' defence site division Lifestyle.
Two new Costa Coffee outlets will also be introduced at the site.
When the contract begins, ESS will have been partnering with the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for over a decade.
Chris Garside, business director of ESS, said: "It is truly an honour to cater for the future officers of the British Army and naturally we're delighted to have retained the contract with the Royal Military Academy of Sandhurst.
"We look forward to opening the new Costa Coffee units and supporting the Academy through the introduction of the new Pay As You Dine scheme."
The Pay As You Dine scheme allows individuals to pay for what they eat at the counter. It replaces a system where a daily charge for three meals a day was automatically deducted from their pay, whether they took the meals or not.
