Ethical caterer Pabulum wins £600,000 college contract
Pabulum, a contract caterer which specialises in ethical and sustainable catering, has won a £600,000 three-year contract to provide services at Totton College, Southampton.
The Hampshire-based company, which expects the annual revenue to be in excess of £200,000, will serve a selection of hot and cold Fairtrade, organic and locally-sourced produce. Pabulum has also entered into a joint venture with Costa Coffee to open an outlet on the main Totton College campus.
Jonathan Gawthrop, Pabulum managing director, said: "We're absolutely thrilled to have beaten off fierce competition from some of our corporate rivals to supply students at Totton College with our brand of ‘fresh food, freshly made' produce.
"What is all the more pleasing is the fact that the students played an integral part in the whole process, choosing a supplier who they felt could best provide the right selection of more healthy and attractive meals at reasonable prices."
Pabulum currently provides catering services to a number of education sector clients in the south east, including Southampton City College; Guildford College of Further Education; City and Islington College and Lewisham College in London.
