Five more restaurants set to open in Merry Hill
Shopping centre operator the Westfield Group has announced five new restaurant signings for its Merry Hill development in the West Midlands.
The restaurants, which will be part of its £2m, 1,200-seat food court, include Pizza Express, Chinese restaurant Yangtze Express, Zetao Noodles and Sushi, British restaurant Harpers and Italian eatery Napoli.
Other names that have already signed up to the development are Nandos, Nineteen Ten, Mexican Kitchen, Hey Potato and KFC.
Rachel Belam, food leasing executive for Westfield, said: "With over 80% of the scheme now let or in legals, we're delighted with the interest we've received for this scheme which will be a significant addition to the overall leisure and entertainment experience at Merry Hill."
In a bid to keep the jobs local, the retail giant has joined up with Stourbridge College to launch a hospitality academy designed to train local people for the 200 new jobs which will be created by the food court when it opens this December.
Over 100 people have already signed up to the scheme.
