Guernsey's only Michelin-starred restaurant to close

Christophe, the only Michelin-starred restaurant on the island of Guernsey, is set to close next month.

Located in the Fermain Valley Hotel's upper gardens, the restaurant, which has held a star for eight years, will shut as its building will be developed as a dedicated conference, banqueting and events venue.

The restaurant's head chef, Christophe Vincent, has been appointed executive chef for the hotel's other restaurants, the fine dining Palm Court Restaurant and the Valley Brasserie, as well as the extended banquet and functions facility in the new conference centre.

Vincent said that after having held a Michelin star for eight years, it was time for a new challenge.

"Taking over as executive chef of the Fermain Valley hotel gives me this opportunity," he said.

"I am very much looking forward to working with the team towards enhancing and building the food and beverage business within the hotel."
