Heston Blumenthal and Gordon Ramsay's restaurants remain the best in the UK
Celebrity chefs Heston Blumenthal and Gordon Ramsay are still at the top of their game when it comes to the UK restaurant scene, according to the latest edition of the Good Food Guide](http://www.which.co.uk/books-and-magazines/books/food/the-good-food-guide-2010/index.jsp).
The restaurant bible has named Heston Blumenthal's three-Michelin-starred Fat Duck in Bray, Berkshire, the best restaurant in Britain, awarding it a perfect score of ten out of ten for the second year in a row.
Gordon Ramsay's flagship three-Michelin-starred restaurant on London's Royal Hospital Road in Chelsea scored nine out of ten, making it the second most popular UK restaurant in the Good Food Guide 2010.
The awards come after a tough year so far for both celebrity chefs. Blumenthal was forced to close the Fat Duck for more than two weeks following an outbreak of the norovirus at the beginning of the year which saw up to 400 diners infected.
Ramsay meanwhile publicly admitted earlier this year that his international restaurant empire nearly collapsed into administration. Profits at Gordon Ramsay Holdings plummeted by nearly 90% from £3.05m to just £383,325 amid the group's rapid global expansion through which it lost millions of pounds.
Elizabeth Carter, editor of the Good Food Guide, said: "It's been a tough year for all chefs, but these super chefs are at the top of their game and producing superlative food. It's difficult to fault the Fat Duck's impeccable standards and Gordon Ramsay's modern French cooking is perfectly executed too."
The Good Food Guide 2010 is published on 8 September priced £16.99.
