Catering is the key to a successful conference, claims report
The key to a successful conference is in the catering, according to a report by the University of Leeds.
A survey amongst conference delegates during the last month found that 67% of people rated food as the most important influence at a conference.
Bev Kenny, assistant director of catering and conferencing for residential and commercial services, said: "With the rise of celebrity chefs, people choosing to eat out more and information on healthy eating readily available, people are taking more of an interest in the food they are eating.
"This is something the University's catering team has noticed with more and more delegates expecting to be offered high-quality food, with healthy options, meeting specific dietary requirements."
Second on delegates' priorities was the standard of event venue and third was location.
