London's Terroirs to open downstairs restaurant next month
Wine bar and restaurant Terroirs in London's West End is set to launch a downstairs dining room next month.
Ed Wilson launched Terroirs in Covent Garden to critical acclaim last autumn.
Serving a list of 200 wines, with a focus on organic and biodynamic wines, the 45-seat wine bar serves a bar menu with Mediterranean influences including cheese and charcuterie boards.
It will open an additional 60-seat basement restaurant with bar in mid-October, which will serve a more elaborate menu.
"The downstairs restaurant will be an extension of what we offer in the upstairs wine bar," Wilson told Caterersearch.
"We have a bigger kitchen downstairs so will be able to serve a more elaborate menu. It offers us the opportunity to provide a more comfortable space to those wanting more than just a glass of wine and a snack."
The idea behind Terroirs is derived from the Parisian natural wine bars with their emphasis on rare wines, informal service, and high-quality hearty food.
