First Annual World Food Awards to be held this month
The inaugural World Food Awards, aimed at celebrating the best in world food, will be held later this month.
Highlighting the growth in ethnic foods, the awards will assess the global food sector across the UK and Europe and will be held at the London Hilton Park Lane on 31 October.
Designed by the World Foods Association, the awards will be globally broadcast by Sony Entertainment Television (SET) Asia, which is co-organising the ceremony, and will include a guest list of sport, cultural and chef personalities.
The judging panel comprises of celebrity chefs including Ready Steady Cook star Ainsley Harriott, David Moore of the BBC's The Restaurant and owner of the Michelin-starred restaurants Pied à Terre and L'Autre Pied in London, and Tony Matharu, managing director of Grange Hotels.
Rajan Singh, executive vice president international business of SET Asia said: "We are thrilled to be working with the World Food Association to be a part of the first annual World Food Awards.
