The planned Holiday Inn Manchester MediaCityUK
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a deal to open a new Holiday Inn hotel at the MediaCityUK development in Manchester.

The 218-room hotel, with a bar, restaurant, gym facilities and meeting rooms, is expected to begin operating in autumn 2010.

MediaCityUK, a brand new development on Salford Quays, will be the home to 2,500 BBC staff from five departments, when it opens in 2011.

Phase 1 of MediaCityUK, which is being developed by Peel Group, will cover more than 36-acres of land alongside the Manchester Ship Canal. The site will be home to one of Europe’s biggest high definition studio facilities, along with a waterfront piazza capable of holding upwards of 5,000 people.
