Marriott plans independent collection of hotels under Autograph brand
Marriott International have announced plan to introduce a new brand of luxury, independent hotels and resorts called the Autograph Collection.
Located in major cities and desirable locations worldwide, the hotels will be individual in style. They will include historic, boutique-style and urban contemporary properties. It is hoped that 25 hotels will be added to the brand across the globe during 2010.
"Each hotel will be highly unique and distinct with its own identity, appealing to a growing segment of our customers who are looking for an experience that an independent hotel can deliver," said Don Semmler, executive vice president of brand management for Marriott International.
The company hopes the Autograph Collection will give Marriott the ability to capture a broad audience that would not have typically considered a branded concept and appeal to guests who want to stay in independent hotels.
Marriott International currently operates and franchises hotels under a variety of brands including Marriott, JW Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance, Residence Inn, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn and Bulgari.
