Weather updates top hotel guests' viewing wish-list

An update on the weather is the most important information that British guests want to be able to access in their hotel rooms, according to a new report.

Research carried out by Telindus, the network integration specialist, found that when offered a variety of information and viewing options in their hotel room, 65% of hotel guests chose local weather updates.

Local tourist attractions and bar and restaurant reviews come a close second, selected by 64% of travellers. Receiving TV channels in their native language comes third, with 51% of viewers choosing this option.

When it comes to adult entertainment, just 4% admit to wanting to watch it on their TV.

"We've really lived up to the British stereotype," said Nick Burrows, product manager digital media solutions at Telindus. "It seems we can't get away from discussing the weather or the latest shenanigans in EastEnders , even when we are on holiday."
