Dukes hotel recruits Debrah Dhugga as general manager
Debrah Dhugga has been appointed general manager of Dukes hotel, London, the 90-bedroom property managed by CampbellGray Hotels.
Sharing CampbellGray's attention to detail, flair and individuality, Dhugga said she was greatly looking forward to working for the company. "These are challenging times for the hotel industry but with a stunning product and a strong team, I am confident that we can continue to stand out from the crowd," she said.
Dhugga previously spent nine years at Malmaison before being appointed managing director in 2005 of Tom's Companies, which owned Seaham Hall hotel and Serenity Spa in County Durham and the Samling in Cumbria until the hotels were sold to Von Essen in March 2008. She then went to work for GHD as director of retail and spa.
Dhugga will be using her spa experience to look at offering small spa packages and treatments tailored for couples, which will help promote Dukes as a destination hotel in the capital. She will also be looking to maintain Dukes Bar's reputation as one of the most famous martini bars in the world.
Dukes is owned by Dubai-based property company, Seven Tides. Besides Dukes, the CampbellGray collection of hotels includes One Aldwych, London; Carlisle Bay, Antigua; and Le Gray, Beirut.
