St James's Hotel and Club joins the Small Luxury Hotels of the World
St James's Hotel and Club in London has joined the marketing consortium, Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH).
Henrik Muehle, managing director of the 60-bedroom hotel in Mayfair, has worked with SLH in his previous positions as general manager at the Capital hotel, Knightsbridge, and deputy general manager at Tylney Hall hotel in Hook, Hampshire.
St James's will now end its relationship with marketing and sales consortium Preferred Hotels Group. It has been a member of the group since the hotel reopened in autumn 2008 following a multi-million pound, two year redesign and renovation.
Muehle said that the SLH brand is more fitting to the hotel than the Preferred brand as it is a UK based company, as opposed to American, and it promotes all 500 of its hotels under one umbrella, whereas Preferred has four strands to the brand.
"SLH already represents some of the finest small hotels around the world and we are delighted to be amongst them," said Muehle.
St James's Hotel and Club is managed by luxury hotel operator, the Althoff Collection which manages hotels in Germany and France.
