Caterersearch.com Web Award winners revealed

Italian restaurant chain Strada has become the big winner in this year's Caterersearch.com Web Awards, picking up the title of Website of the Year.

Judges praised Strada's website (www.strada.co.uk) for its "slick and professional look". "It delivers all the information I would be looking for when trying to decide where to eat," one judge said.

Two hospitality websites won their second Web Award this year. Luxury Scottish resort Gleneagles (www.gleneagles.com) retained the Hotels - Independent title for its website's "excellent extras and ease of use", while Alliance (www.allianceonline.co.uk) was commended for its "effective shop that will drive sales", winning the Equipment Supplier Award for the second time.

In the other categories, Thai restaurant Yum Yum's website (www.yumyum.co.uk/) won the award for Restaurant - Independent, which judges praised for its "focus on developing repeat business" and its commitment to "improving the success of the conversion to revenue".

Apex Hotels (www.apexhotels.co.uk) picked up the Hotels - Group award after its website impressed judges with its innovation and interactivity, as well as its "depth of content, ease of use and a light and friendly style".

The Interactive/Innovative award went to Beacon Green Hotel (www.beacongreenhotel.co.uk) , with one judge saying: "I learnt so much about green issues and how my hotel could make a real difference. I love this website for its innovation."
