Starwood and Marriott woo guests with loyalty programmes
Hotel guests are being enticed by increasingly generous loyalty programmes from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Marriott Hotels.
Starwood's loyalty programme, Starwood Preferred Guest, has a new More Nights=More Rewards promotion that rewards all stays with double, triple and quadruple Starpoints, based on the number of nights stayed.
Members will earn the reward for every night of their stay so, for example, a three-night stay rewards members triple Starpoints on all three nights.
Current and new members of Starwood Preferred Guest can find out more about the programme by registering at www.spg.com/morerewards.
Meanwhile, Marriott Rewards' MegaMiles promotion is giving away triple air miles on a choice of more than two dozen airline frequent flier programmes, beginning with their second stay from 1 February to 30 April 2010.
For instance, a member who would normally earn 400 miles for a stay, will earn 1,200 miles for the same stay with MegaMiles.
Participating airlines include British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Air France, KLM, Lufthansa and United Airlines.
Further details about the programme, which involves 3,100 participating Marriott hotels in 68 countries, can be found at www.MarriottRewards.com/MegaMiles.
